Verona, Italy

Following the end of the war, Epstein and his unit moved to the town of Ziracco in Northern Italy. Along the way they passed through several towns, including the famous city of Verona, which Jerome described in subsequent letters. Perhaps more well read than the average GI, Jerome associated Verona with the works of William Shakespeare, and spent part of his trip through the city reciting the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet.
