Description
Carbon copy of letter sent by C. Harrison Mann, Jr. to George B. Zehmer of the University of Virginia regarding the University's plans to begin a program of higher education in the northern Virginia area. In this letter he describes to Zehmer what he sees to be the problem regarding the population of the area. To Mann, the number of "newcomers" who are "desirous of creating a local utopia" without the benefit of the state's intercession. This could be a problem, according to Mann, as they see the rest of the state as "a most unholy place." March 16, 1949, two pages.
