Handwritten note of July 25, 1963 from Joseph L. Vaughan, Chancellor to Community Colleges, University of Virginia to Robert Reid asking him to attend the groundbreaking ceremony set for Thursday, August 1, 1963 at the Fairfax campus site. At this point Reid is a professor of history at Mason. He will assume the directorship January 1, 1964.
