Acknowledgements and Contributors

A great many people have aided us with this project over the years. We would like to first acknowledge the work of the Mason Libraries’ Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) in acquiring, processing, digitizing, and creating a finding aid for the Elizabeth Fairfax Cookbook manuscript upon which this project is based. We are also grateful to our SCRC colleagues Lynn Eaton, Bob Vay, and Amanda Menjivar for their ongoing generosity in sharing their resources and expertise, especially in regards to recipe transcription, outreach, and project management.

We would also like to thank the Mason Libraries Administration for their ongoing support for this project, starting with Diane Smith, Associate University Librarian (AUL) for our division at the project’s inception (she has since retired). Diane believed in our vision for a project that we could use to teach ourselves digital humanities skills. She encouraged and challenged us to develop a proposal and project plan that we continue to draw on. We are also grateful for the support of our successive AULs, John Walsh and Meg Meiman, as well as our Deans, John Zenelis, and Anne Osterman.
