A remedy to help reduce redness or possibly inflammation in the face, using herb-of-grace, sage, bay leaf, and sulfur, boiled together and mixed with butter.
Transcript
Rx a handfull of herbigrace as much Sage shred very small. half a ounce of bay leves husked and beaten to pouder, and the quanty of a wall nut of brimstone mingled to gether the bay leves and - brimstone will beat beter together then a sunder then take half a pound of buter out of the churne boyle the hearbs in it till it be Grene then straine it out put in the pouder and stir it well to gether till it be anoint the face at night & wash it of in the morning
