A remedy for treating stomach pains by infusing rhubarb, orange peel, salt of wormwood, nutmeg, and cochineal, infused in "true arrack" (a distilled spirit, undetermined if referring to the Southeast Asian or Arabic drink).

Take take best Rhuburb in powder two Ounces and a half salt of Wormwood a Dram Orange Peel half an Ounce grated Nutmeg two scruples Cochineal half a Dram Infuse 48 Hours by a Warm fire side in a Quart of true Arrack Streain it off and put it in a well corked Bottle for use - Of this two or three table spoonfulls may be taken two or three times a Week or at pleasure with great safety and Benefit and continud even to mature Old Age if found necessary - NB When Violently pained a wine glass full of this should be taken at Night just befor going to Bed -
